Stinson Beach Hiking Directions

Matt Davis Trail

  1. Free beach parking is west off Highway 1 in the town of Stinson Beach, CA. Signs clearly marked.

  2. Distance 3.7 miles round trip

  3. Just east of the parking lot is the Parkside Snack Bar. Walk across a little footbridge.

  4. Continue through the small town park and turn right on Highway

  5. No sidewalks or shoulder so be careful. Travel south for one block.

  6. Turn left on Belvedere Ave and walk east about 200 feet. The entrance to the Matt Davis Trail is on your right.

  7. Hike up for about 1.6 miles to the trail’s intersection with the Coast Trail. Explore these high meadows for a bit, take in the view, and turn around.
